Finance Assistant - (SAGE / XERO Experience) - Up to £25k Nottingham

EMBS is working in partnership with one of the largest architectural practices in the region of Nottingham. The company is embarking on a changover of accounting software and therefore you will work closely with the finance manager to ensure a smooth transition. You will report directly to the finance manager in all aspects of the role. 

Key Areas and Activities: 

  • Raising and coding sales invoices and credit notes 
  • Reconciling invoices and nominal ledger on excel 
  • Creation of jobs in Dimensions (or Xero equivalent process) 
  • Dealing with queries from suppliers regarding invoices and credit notes 
  • Maintaining log-ons for starters and leavers 
  • Posting timesheets and expenses - checking these are up to date 
  • Processing customer statement 
  • Chasing overdue invoices 
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register 
  • Monthly accruals, credit card transactions and repayments 
  • Posting journals to the nominal ledger 
  • Comply with policies and procedures 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements 

  • Knowledge of VAT on sales and purchases 
  • Working knowledge of Xero and Access Dimensions is an advantage but not essential 
  • Strong team working ethic and ability to work collaboratively 
  • AAT Level 3 or 4 preferred but not essential 
  • Prior experience of reconciliation of bank accounts, purchase invoicing and sales invoicing
